Memphis Grizzlies to finish with over 48.5 wins

The way things have gone so far in preseason, the Grizzlies have looked like a well-oiled machine. Everyone already seems to have an idea of what their role is (or will be), what the expectations are, and everyone appears to be in great shape.

The Grizzlies are coming off of a season in which they tied the franchise record for most wins in the regular season with 56 wins. The team lost just two rotation players from last season in De’Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson. They’ve replaced them with a handful of rookies that have a much more dynamic range of skill and athleticism.

Beyond Jaren Jackson Jr. being sidelined with his recovery from offseason surgery, there is little evidence to suggest this team will see a 7 or 8 game win reduction. Once Jackson returns in a few weeks, they’ll basically be operating with the same crew as last season, with a lot more experience under their belts.

The main thing to watch for the Memphis Grizzlies will be Morant’s health. The superstar point guard has missed an average of 19 games in each of his three NBA seasons. But, the good news is: the team is 26-14 without him since he joined the team in 2019, according to Stat Muse.

A big reason for that is the continuity and stability they have in Tyus Jones, widely considered one of the best backup point guards in the NBA. Jones has re-signed for two more seasons, give the team peace of mind for whenever Morant needs to recover from any injuries or soreness sustained during the rigorous 82-game regular season.

A $25 wager on this action would payout $42.85.
