Memphis Grizzlies Coach Taylor Jenkins named NBA Coach of the Year

Odds: (+1000)
Sportsbook: DraftKings

Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach Taylor Jenkins finished second last season for NBA Coach of the Year, losing out to Phoenix Suns Head Coach Monty Williams.

While Williams was definitely deserving, Jenkins seemed to have a better case for the award. He did more with less talent, increased his win total by 18 wins, and had to overcome a season that had his starting five play just 96 minutes together from the season opener through April 3.

Unfortunately, it didn’t matter. It appears the award was a referendum on the 2020-21 award, which was given to New York Knicks Head Coach Tom Thibodeau instead of Williams, whom many thought was the clear winner that season.

But this season, several sportsbooks have Jenkins as the betting favorite to win the award. Despite being the favorite, the odds are still pretty long at +1000.

Look at it this way though, you can get a nice payout if you place your wager now before the market adjusts after the team begins regular season play.

A $25 wager on this action would payout $275.00.
