Ja Morant over 27.5 points per game average for 2022-23

Odds: (+108)
Sportsbook: Caesars

This is an interesting wager because Morant scored more than 27.5 points per game last season. The is an over/under line, so you would need to pick whether or not his scoring average will be 27.6 PPG or more or will it be 27.4 PPG or lower.

This bet may be a little counter-intuitive to the previous bet I mentioned about Morant increasing his assist average. If he’s distributing the ball more, he’s likely going to be scoring less. The opposite can be true here: if he’s scoring more, he’s passing less.

But, if he can do both, we’re talking about Morant being in the MVP conversation with averages of somewhere in the range of 28 PPG, 8 APG, and 5 RPG.

If Morant has improved his three-point shooting, which we’ve heard him talk about being an emphasis for him during the offseason, he’ll be able to rack up points much more rapidly and with greatly reduced contact. Reducing his contact, could help him stay on the court with a little less wear and tear on his body, giving him more opportunities to increase that scoring average.

Additionally, with the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs likely entering the tankathon, this will give Morant some extra games against perceived lesser competition, which could lead to some big scoring nights.

A $25 wager on this action would payout $52.00.
