Top Memphis Grizzlies players drafted in Fantasy Basketball
Jaren Jackson Jr.: 134 ADP 62.8% Rostered – Perfectly Valued
Steven Adams: 129 ADP 42.9% Rostered – Perfectly Valued
Dillon Brooks: 119 ADP 68.8% Rostered – Undervalued
Brandon Clarke: 107.2 ADP 52.3% Rostered – Overvalued
Desmond Bane: 55.2 ADP 87.5% Rostered – Perfectly Valued
Ja Morant: 8.8 ADP 99.8% Rostered – Perfectly Valued
This group of players was a little harder to value. While Jaren Jackson Jr. finished 9th among Power Forwards last season (this includes any players who can be put in the power forward spot including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jason Tatum, Lebron James, and Kevin Durant). JJJ is being drafted late in the draft as a draft and stash player (drafting him for later in the season when he returns) I think this is a reasonable spot to draft him. We are not sure when he will return, but at least he is being drafted in 62.8% of leagues.
I love Brandon Clarke and think he is vital to the team, but his minutes are too inconsistent to be counted on so early in the draft. Do not get me wrong, Brandon Clarke should be drafted, as he will consistently grab 5+ rebounds a game with a few blocks, and should see a bolster in minutes coming into the season with Jaren Jackson Jr. out. It is a high-risk pick.
If Jaren comes back sooner, Brandon Clarke’s minutes may get reduced back below 20 minutes. But if he is out a while longer, and Santi Aldama does not perform as he has, Brandon could be looking at extended minutes with increased production. If Brandon fell to me in round 10 or so, I would pick him up. But in a 12-Man league, pick 107 puts him in round 8, which is a bit early in my opinion. Nonetheless, he will be contingent on the context of the season, and what your league will look like as far as how many teams are playing within it.
Ja Morant and Desmond Bane are being noticed and are being drafted accordingly. Desmond Bane had a greatly improved year last year, and now that he is not fighting for minutes with De’Anthony Melton, as he was at the beginning of last season, he is a clear #2 option for Memphis’ offense, especially until Jaren Jackson Jr. returns.
