Ziaire Williams: B

22.9 MPG, 10.7 PPG (42.9% FG, 41.7% 3PT, 90% FT), 3.7 RPG, 2.3 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 0.7 TOV

In the three games that Ziaire Williams appeared in this preseason, he looked like a way more comfortable basketball player. He’s made obvious strides with his playmaking and was looking to score every time he touched the ball. He missed the last two games, however, for undisclosed reasons. Hopefully, he’s good to go on opening night, but even if he isn’t, he should be due for an increase in production in year two.

Tyus Jones: D

17.9 MPG, 4.3 PPG (19% FG, 22.2% 3PT, 77.8% FT), 3.0 RPG, 3.0 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.0 BPG, 0.8 TOV

Tyus Jones looked like a seasoned veteran going into his eighth year who knew that preseason doesn’t mean anything. He could simply not buy a basket. Don’t overanalyze these four preseason games, and expect Tyus Jones to be one of the best backup point guards in the league once again in 2022-23.

John Konchar: B-

22.0 MPG, 5.8 PPG (40.9% FG, 35.7% 3PT), 5.8 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG, 1.5 TOV

John Konchar played extremely solid off the bench in the four games he played. He proved to be a solid floor spacer, but the most important thing I took away was his ability to rebound the basketball. Rebounding will be much needed on a projected smaller second unit of Tyus Jones, Ziaire Williams, John Konchar, Jake LaRavia, and Brandon Clarke.
