Memphis Grizzlies rookie Kenneth Lofton Jr. continued to impress everyone

Kenneth Lofton Jr. became an early favorite among Memphis fans, due to his impressive offensive skillset and his bully-ball style of play that reminded of Zach Randolph. In the preseason, he played just one game, but it was more than enough.

Against the Milwaukee Bucks, Lofton put up 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in just 24 minutes. He seemed very comfortable scoring against NBA vets like Serge Ibaka, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis, showing us that his game can translate in the real NBA.

However, Kenneth didn’t take any time playing alongside the team’s main guys. The crowded Grizzlies frontcourt, combined with Santi Aldama’s rise will make it hard for him to earn a spot on the rotation, which is perfectly fine.

Kenneth will spend the season swapping around the Grizzlies and Hustle uniform, which will give him the time to work on his flaws, while also the opportunity to prove he’s ready to immediately contribute.

Until playoffs come, Lofton could have earned a full guaranteed NBA contract. Or the Grizzlies may choose to keep him on a two-way contract until he becomes a restricted free agent in the summer. Whatever is the case, it’ll definitely be fun following him this season.
