Memphis Grizzlies fall 137-96 in blowout loss to the Mavericks

The Grizzlies took on the Mavericks Saturday night on NBATV in a matchup that featured arguably the two best players under the age of 25 in the NBA.

From the jump, it appeared that the Mavericks had the Grizzlies’ number. In the first quarter, Luka Doncic scored 21 points on 80% shooting from the field. With Dillon Brooks still sidelined with an injury, rookie David Roddy was tasked with guarding Doncic, and it was definitely his welcome to the NBA moment as Doncic got everything that he wanted.

The score at the end of the first was 39-17 in the Mavericks’ favor, and the Grizzlies never recovered.

The Mavericks were unconscious from the field as they finished the game shooting 50% from the field and 43.6% from beyond the arch, and Luka Doncic finished with 32 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.

It is very easy to get discouraged after such a blowout on national television, but let’s dive into three reasons why you shouldn’t.
