Grizzlies Dec 15 trade target No. 1: Patty Mills

The Grizzlies have a top-10 offense but are in the bottom 10 in 3-point attempt rate and just middle of the pack in 3-point percentage. Part of that is the fact that Desmond Bane has missed so much time, but the reality is that this roster has players that help the percentage or the volume, but not really both.

Adding a pure gunner like Patty Mills would put another arrow in Taylor Jenkins’ quiver, a movement shooter who can step in and bomb away. The Brooklyn Nets have a better version of Mills in Seth Curry, and accordingly, Mills could be available on the market. A small asset could be enough to add Mills and give this offense another way to attack.

Grizzlies Dec 15 trade target No. 2: Goran Dragic

The Grizzlies have the best 1-2 punch at point guard in the entire league, with Tyus Jones capable of starting for a host of teams and playing at an elite level anytime Ja Morant is out. The problem is that the space behind them is less sure. Rookie Kennedy Chandler has shown flashes and looks to have a bright future, but he is shooting just 16.7 percent from deep. This past offseason they moved on from Kyle Anderson and De’Anthony Melton, eliminating much of this roster’s redundant ball-handling.

Adding a third point guard to use in case Morant or Jones are out makes sense, and Goran Dragic could be worth a look. The veteran guard is playing on a Chicago Bulls team that has to decide if it’s going to try and bail water or declare the ship lost and jettison cargo. If Chicago becomes a seller at the deadline, Dragic would be a low-cost option with NBA Finals experience to add to the locker room.
