Grizzlies Dec 15 trade target No. 3: Isaiah Hartenstein

This past summer, the New York Knicks signed two centers to new contracts, paying Mitchell Robinson more than Isaiah Hartenstein despite the fact that Hartenstein had a better season and has proven to be more durable. This year they continue to prioritize Robinson’s minutes, and they love third center Jericho Sims, which has led to rumors that Hartenstein could be available on the trade market.

He would be an intriguing addition for the Grizzlies, an upgrade on their current backup center options, and a replacement for Steven Adams next year or beyond. He has a decent handle for a center, is a relentless rebounder, and is a decent defensive playmaker, so he would fit right in. This would be truly a luxury addition.

Grizzlies Dec 15 trade target No. 4: Otto Porter Jr.

Filling more of a distinct need is Otto Porter Jr., a stretch-4 who was a key part of the Golden State Warriors championship team last season. He has dealt with minor injuries this season, but when healthy he is a rugged defender and confident shooter whose versatility allows him to fit into a wide range of lineups.

The Toronto Raptors sit under .500 at this point in the season, a far cry from where they expected to be, and as such are at the center of many trade rumors. The Grizzlies could use a proven veteran to space the floor at the 4, insurance against their young 4s struggling in the playoffs.

The Grizzlies are in great shape and only have minor weaknesses to address, but with so many players hitting the trade market on Dec 15 it represents an opportunity to shore things up and set this team up for a postseason run, with their gaze focused firmly on an NBA championship.
