Grizzlies vs. Raptors prediction and odds for Thursday, December 29th (Memphis will shut down Toronto)
The Memphis Grizzlies travel North of the border to face the Toronto Raptors in an interconference matchup.
The Grizzlies are hoping to use this as a get right game after having dropped four of their last five games, including a 125-108 home loss to the Phoenix Suns at home their last night out.
As a result of recent poor play, the Grizzlies are only 3-point favorites in Canada.
Let’s break down the odds and then I’ll give you my best bet for the game.
Grizzlies vs. Raptors odds, spread, and total
Grizzlies vs. Raptors prediction and pick
The Grizzlies’ biggest issue on their cold streak is shooting. Over their last three games, they rank dead last in the NBA in effective field goal percentage at 52.7%.
The Raptors aren’t exactly a good shooting team either, ranking 28th in effective field goal percentage this season.
While this might be a bounce back spot for Memphis, instead of risking it by betting on them to win and cover the spread, let’s just rely on them doing what we know they do well; play defense.
This looks like an UNDER bet if I’ve ever seen one.
The Grizzlies rank third in both defensive efficiency and opponent effective field goal percentage this season, and even in their recent poor stretch of games they still rank inside the top 10 in those categories.
I think we’re in for a defensive slug fest tonight, so with the total set in the high 20s, I’m willing to put a few dollars on the UNDER.
