Pacers vs. Grizzlies prediction and odds for Sunday, January 29 (Trust Memphis)

The Memphis Grizzlies are struggling right now, losing five straight games on a rough road trip heading into Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

Memphis is finally back at home, and it should be able to handle a Pacers team that has lost nine of its last 10 games with Tyrese Haliburton out of the lineup due to an elbow injury.

Despite the five-game skid, the Grizz still rank fifth in the NBA in net rating, and they have been one of the league’s best home teams all season, going 20-3 straight up.

Memphis likely won’t have Desmond Bane (doubtful) in this game, and John Konchar and Steven Adams have already been ruled out.

The Pacers are without Haliburton again, which is a bad sign for their offense. Indiana ranks 28th in the NBA over its last 10 games in offensive rating.

While both of these teams are struggling, I feel comfortable laying the points with Memphis in this matchup.

The Grizzlies are a superior team at home, going 12-8-1 against the spread as home favorites and winning those games by an average margin of 12.0 points.

Indiana has not been able to compete offensively, and although it lost its last game to Milwaukee by just 10 points, it was down 30 at the half.

The Pacers rank 22nd in the NBA in defensive rating this season, so losing the engine of their offense (Haliburton) has finally exposed some of the team’s weaknesses.

Even though Bane is doubtful for this game, I think Memphis should be able to score at will. Nine points is a lot to stomach, but the Grizzlies have turned things up a notch at home this season.
