Luke Kennard can’t be the only answer to Grizzlies shooting woes

The Grizzlies seemed to understand that they needed to improve their shooting at the trade deadline. Their only trade was to acquire Clippers sharpshooter Luke Kennard. Kennard is certainly an excellent shooter from deep, but he has never shot a high volume of threes. Expecting Kennard to fix their problem by himself is asking too much.

They aren’t going to suddenly become an above-average shooting team, but better shot selection from guys like Dillon Brooks can help mitigate it. They already don’t shoot very many threes as it is, but focusing on getting the few shooters they do have better looks needs to be a priority offensively. Morant is always going to be the center of attention, and he has already improved as a playmaker this season. Setting up more drive-and-kicks to Bane, Kennard, and Santi Aldama would hopefully get their confidence up.

Kennard was a good move, but they just need to not rely on him as the only solution to their shooting issues.
