The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Denver Nuggets in Western Conference action set to take place on Saturday night.

The Nuggets hold a six-game lead in the West, but it’s the Grizzlies who are sitting in second place. A win for Memphis tonight will inch them closer to Denver, and oddsmakers have the Grizzlies set as the betting favorites.

Let’s take look at the odds for the game and then I’ll break down why I think the Grizzlies are a good bet to make.

Nuggets vs. Grizzlies odds, spread, and total

Nuggets vs. Grizzlies prediction and pick

The Grizzlies have taken over as the best defensive team in the NBA, and I think that’s going to be the difference maker tonight. They’re first in defensive efficiency and second in opponent effective field goal percentage.

They also should be able to shut down the Nuggets’ offense that relies on two-point field goals. 64.2% of Denver’s shots come from two-point range, and now they have to try to score against a Grizzlies team that leads the NBA in opponent two-point field goal percentage, keeping teams to shooting just 51.1% from two-point range.

The Nuggets have also struggled with their shooting on the road at times. Their effective field goal percentage drops 4% when playing away from their home court.

I’ll lay the points with the Grizzlies on Saturday night.
