Warriors vs. Grizzlies prediction and odds for Saturday, March 18
By Josh Yourish
This rivalry might really have legs. It seems like the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies really do not like each other and the dislike or dare I say hate is centered around Dillon Brooks and Draymond Green. Green is back from his suspension yesterday, so those two will get another shot at each other tonight, but sadly the man that the Memphis Grizzlies organization is centered around, Ja Morant is still suspended.
Last time they met in Memphis, the Grizzlies rolled, 131-110 without Morant, so it might not be a problem. Let’s take a look at the odds.
Warriors vs. Grizzlies odds, spread and total
Warriors vs. Grizzlies prediction and pick
The Warriors flat out stink on the road and they proved it again last night in Atlanta. They fell to the Hawks, 127-119 despite a 31 point night from Steph Curry. Curry looks good back from his injury, so that’s good news for the Dubs , but at 36-35 they’re not in a great spot in the Western Conference.
There are only two teams in the NBA with fewer road wins than the Warriors, the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs who are both actively trying to lose games, and they’ve played more road games than both. They are 7-28 away from the Bay and have a net rating of -7.1. Their defensive rating on the road is 119.6, which is 28th in the league.
Meanwhile at home, no team is better than Memphis, at least in terms of net rating. They have a 10.8 net rating at home with a 105.9 defensive rating which is also the best in the NBA. The Grizzlies beat San Antonio on Friday night and are 4-3 during Morant’s suspension/leave of absence.
Not only are the Warriors bad on the road, they’re a bad bet too. An 8-26 record against the spread away from home is abysmal and oddsmakers can’t catch up to it, let’s ride the season long trends and back the Grizz to win and cover.
