Grizzlies vs. Hawks prediction and odds for Sunday, March 26 (Value on total)

The Memphis Grizzlies are trending upwards once again.

For the No. 2 seed in the West it has felt like anything but over the last few weeks amidst a host of injuries and Ja Morant’s suspension from the team. However, the team has seen the growth of Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Defensive Player of the Year candidate has been on a roll and is starting to realize his ceiling on offense as well. Can he keep up his fine play as Morant works his way back against the Atlanta Hawks, who have struggled on defense this season?

The Hawks hired Quinn Snyder midseason to rejuvenate the roster, but it hasn’t shown yet as the team is still .500 on the year and bottom 10 in the league on the defensive side of the ball.

They are really going to struggle against a Grizzlies offense that is third on the year in defensive rating, but are really humming on offense, fourth in offensive rating in the month of March.

With JJJ finding his form and the return of Morant, the Grizzlies offense should have little issue putting up points in an up-tempo affair against the Hawks. But Trae Young and Atlanta should be able to score at a high clip as well, even against one of the best defenses in the league in Memphis. Since the beginning of March, Atlanta is third in points per 100 possessions, scoring isn’t the issue.

I can’t trust Atlanta’s defense to win as small home underdogs, but I think both teams can put up points in an efficient manner and go over the total.
