The Portland Trail Blazers were so bad this season that now, they’re trying to lose and now, they’re bad at that too. Last time out they beat Minnesota, 107-105 to get to 33-45, 13th in the West and the fifth worst record in the NBA. The Memphis Grizzlies on the other hand are 49-29, but after losing two of their last three, they’re 3.0 games back of the top seed in the Western Conference with four games to go.

Memphis could have had a shot at the top spot, but that ship has sailed, now they just have to defend their two-game lead on Sacramento for the No. 2 seed as the playoffs approach.

Let’s check out the odds for Portland and Memphis tonight.

Blazers vs. Grizzlies odds, spread and total

Blazers vs. Grizzlies prediction and pick

The Trail Blazers are playing some lineups. Some real G-League type of lineups. The good news is that Shaedon Sharpe is getting time to develop and he dropped 27, six and six in that one. However, I don’t think he’s ready to carry this team night to night and win as a 17.5 point underdog today. Especially a team playing somebody named Jeenathan Williams.

Memphis is coming off a loss, but it was to a Chicago Bulls team that is playing really well at the moment. They also scored 70 points in the paint against the Grizzlies, which is a real concern heading into the postseason. The defense inside should be more stout with Jaren Jackson Jr. playing 30 minutes in that game. Without Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke though, the interior is a bit small and a bit soft on this team.

That won’t matter in this game. Portland is playing lineups that are a total joke. They caught lightning in a bottle for one game against Minnesota, but the Wolves are dealing with a non-covid related illness that is sweeping through that team.

Portland is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games following a straight up win, so I’ll ride that trend and bet the massive favorite tonight.
