6. SG Grayson Allen

Now we know most people have a certain distaste for Grayson Allen, deservedly so, as he is no stranger to the occasional dirty play. However, his three-point shooting is something that could’ve been a valuable asset for the Grizzlies if they had opted to keep him.

The Grizzlies may not have “given up” on Allen, as he was pretty solid with the team during his two seasons there. However, adding this sort of player to the culture the Grizzlies have built up seems almost like a match made in heaven.

Allen joined the team following their trade of franchise legend Mike Conley to the Utah Jazz, this is where Allen spent his rookie season in which he showed some flashes. However, after joining the Grizzlies, he took a step up and became a very solid role player for the team.

During his two seasons with Memphis, Allen averaged 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field and 39.5% from three on 4.7 attempts. Despite this, the Grizzlies would ship Allen off to the Bucks for Sam Merril and cash.

Since joining the Bucks, Allen has taken an even bigger step and has evolved into one of the better role players in the league with his consistently good three-point shooting. Having a player like this on the current Grizzlies squad, with their aforementioned poor three-point shooting, would be huge for their championship odds.
