Memphis Grizzlies’ target No. 4 – Grant Williams

It’s been an up-and-down year for Boston Celtics’ forward Grant Williams. After playing the most minutes of his career during the regular season, Williams has fallen out of Boston’s postseason rotation aside from a few brief spurts. With restricted free agency on the horizon for Williams, that is not a good sign. The Grizzlies should keep an eye on Williams over the next few months.

Williams is coming off his best season as a pro, having averaged career-highs in points, rebounds, assists, and 3-point makes per game. At 6-foot-6, he’s also a versatile defender who can take on different matchups when called upon. Williams is a Swiss Army Knife who would fit in seamlessly in Memphis as they look to replace Brooks.

Due to his hit-or-miss role as of late, it will be interesting to see what the Celtics do with Williams this off-season. Restricted free agency means they can retain him if they desire, but it remains to be seen if they plan on giving him the raise it would require. If they do not, the Grizzlies should be all over the possibility of adding a versatile 24-year-old forward to bolster their defense.
