2. GG Jackson

Though the belief is that Tarik Biberovic may have been nabbed as a draft-and-stash talent, fellow 2023 second-round selection GG Jackson is likely more-so viewed as a high-upside prospect who, with the proper guidance and development, could be called upon for spot minutes within the rotation as soon as year one.

With the departure of Dillon Brooks this offseason, Memphis is now in the market for a new wing commodity. Because of this, the former Gamecock standout could find it easy to receive looks from head coach Taylor Jenkins.

What he lacks in shooting efficiency (converted on just 32.4 percent of his 3-point attempts at South Carolina) Jackson certainly makes up for with his natural athleticism, underrated ball handling, and finishing skills.

Through 32 games played during his one-and-done collegiate campaign, the forward finished the season with averages of 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and just shy of a block.

While his 38.9 percent shooting clip is far from ideal, GG Jackson did manage to showcase some potential at times of perhaps one day becoming a consistent three-level scorer if he commits to working on his craft on the Grizzlies’ main roster and, likely, whilst spending time with their G-League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle.
