3. Jake LaRavia

Perhaps no other Grizzlies player benefited more from Dillon Brooks’ departure than sophomore wing, Jake LaRavia.

Due to the club’s already-established depth at the wing position in 2022-23, upon his arrival in Memphis, the Wake Forest phenom was facing an uphill battle when it came to receiving consistent playing time during his rookie campaign. Adding various injuries to the mix certainly didn’t make things easier.

However, with Brooks now in Houston and a full year in the association already under his belt, perhaps 2023-24 could be a coming-out party for LaRavia, and it’ll all start with this year’s Summer League.

Selected 19 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, the combo forward was coming off a junior season at the collegiate level boasting impressive averages of 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks while shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from distance.

Though he was a rare participant within Taylor Jenkins’ rotation throughout his rookie year, Jake LaRavia showed out during his time in the G League, posting 18.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals on 46.6 percent shooting from the field, and 36.4 percent shooting from distance.

Now, with an opening at the wing position within the Grizzlies’ regular rotation, look for the 21-year-old to put his all into this year’s Summer League.
