1. OG Anunoby

If the Grizzlies don’t wind up trading for OG Anunoby at some point between now and the deadline, they must strongly consider making him a top target assuming he turns down his player option for the 2024-25 season.

All throughout this summer, we at BSB have been preaching the idea of Memphis pursuing the rumored-to-be-available wing on the trade market, and, for those familiar with his game, it’s easy to understand why.

A highly capable talent who can excel on both ends of the floor, adding Anunoby to this core would automatically create one of the best defensive trios in the league consisting of him and the two most recent Defensive Player of the Year award recipients in Marcus Smart and Jaren Jackson Jr. while being in a rotation with Jackson, Desmond Bane, and, of course, superstar Ja Morant would give the club a legitimate big-four.

Since entering the league as the 23 overall pick back in 2017, he has only continued to improve upon his overall game and, over the last three seasons, has posted impressive averages of 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and just shy of a block while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from deep.

With championship experience and youth on his side (26), the addition of OG Anunoby would not only be a benefit to the Grizzlies’ desires to contend for a championship in the near future but also for the many years to come.
