The Memphis Grizzlies may seem to have everything figured out following their slew of offseason transactions, but the same unfortunately cannot be said for one of the franchise’s former cornerstones.

Back in early July, veteran forward and ex-Grind City star Rudy Gay was traded to and subsequently waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder which, as a result, has him currently seeking a new place of residency for the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite his advanced age, reports suggest that the 36-year-old is still viewed as a rather intriguing free-agency option, particularly for contending ball clubs.

Though there’s no telling what the former Grizzlies stud wishes to do with his playing future at this point in time, assuming he is looking to keep his career going, there are three organizations that should be viewed as the most realistic landing spots for his services.

3. Golden State Warriors

One of the teams most notably linked to Rudy Gay are the Golden State Warriors who, this summer, made it abundantly clear that they are still hoping to be contending for a title this coming season what with the re-signing of Draymond Green to a four-year, $100 million deal and the blockbuster acquisition of future Hall of Famer, Chris Paul.

Considering their egregious current payroll coupled with their need to still fill out their roster, snatching up Rudy Gay on a minimum deal could prove to be a highly logical move for GM Michael Dunleavy Jr. to make to continue bolstering the team’s depth.

Over the last few seasons, Gay has still managed to show flashes of being a reliable contributor when given an opportunity and just recently wrapped up his two-season tenure with the Utah Jazz boasting averages of 6.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
