Grade the trade: Grizzlies land $72 million wing in new trade proposal

Durrett’s argument for why Grizzlies must consider the trade
Considering Brandon Clarke is slated to miss a large chunk of the upcoming campaign anyway as he rehabs his torn Achilles, the idea here is that Memphis may be more willing to part ways with his services and, should it mean packaging him with three firsts to bring on a two-way stud like OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors, the HH expert suggests such a move could prove to be well worth it.
"“That might be a steep price considering how good Clarke is when healthy, but he will likely be out until December at the earliest due to an Achilles tear. Also, he might not be the same player, at least as far as next season is concerned,” Durrett wrote. “That might make it easier to part with him for the Grizzlies while a rebuilding Toronto team can afford to be patient with him. Adding Anunoby would give the Grizzlies one of the most stacked starting lineups in the NBA, with Morant, Desmond Bane, Anunoby, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Steven Adams. Meanwhile, Smart would operate as a sixth man and allow the Grizzlies to play small without actually giving up much size.”"
A player the Grizzlies reportedly made a “hard run” at around the 2023 trade deadline, Anunoby has quietly become one of the game’s best wing talents.
Despite not boasting an All-Star or All-NBA label, the 26-year-old has certainly put forth the production of someone deserving of such monikers over the last several seasons.
Since 2020-21, Anunoby finds himself sporting stellar all-around averages of 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and just shy of a block while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from deep.
