Following their tumultuous first-round exit at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers last season, the Memphis Grizzlies have been on a mission this summer to re-tool their talent pool in the hope of bouncing back stronger during the 2023-24 campaign.
As of this writing, with their bevy of strong additions highlighted by the acquisition of veteran guard Marcus Smart, it appears the front office has set the club up rather nicely to accomplish such a goal.
Of course, the only thing standing in their way is a nearly two-month-long waiting period between now and the tip-off of Memphis’ regular season.
Though such a time gap may be unbearable to some, with the recent release of the NBA’s full regular season slate, at least Grizzlies fans can now have a feel for what their favorite organization will find themselves going up against on a nightly basis.

Key points Grizzlies fans must be aware of
- Easily the most important date on the regular season calendar should be December 19, as it will be the first day Ja Morant will be eligible to return from his 25-game suspension
- The gap in play between December 2-11 is for the Quarterfinals (December 4-5), Semifinals (December 7), and Final (December 9) of the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament. Teams bounced from the festivities prematurely will play two regular season games during this span, while those bounced in the Quarterfinals will play an additional regular season game
- The break in play between February 15-23 is for the NBA All-Star Break
- The Grizzlies will play a total of 12 back-to-backs, the same as last season
- February will see the Grizzlies playing the most games played at FedExForum in a single month with eight. They will see five straight from the 12-16, marking their longest home streak of the season
- Memphis will get their first shot at redemption against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 14, which will simultaneously be their third game of the In-Season Tournament
- Former Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks will make his return to Grind City as a member of the Houston Rockets on December 15
- Marcus Smart will make his return to Boston on February 4, 2024
- Derrick Rose will make his return to New York on February 6, 2024
