With their slew of moves made this summer, the Memphis Grizzlies find themselves receiving ample love from both fans and media pundits alike heading into the 2023-24 season.

From predictions of MVP-level production from star player Ja Morant (upon his return from suspension, of course) to championship runs, Taylor Jenkins’ squad is expected to make some serious noise in the not-too-distant future.

And while to some, Grind City’s ascension up the league’s hierarchy may be a bit of a surprise to see, recently a former member of the organization suggested that this trajectory is easy to understand.

Danny Green praises Memphis Grizzlies as being ‘A1’ organization

NBA veteran Danny Green shared his thoughts on the Grizzlies organization during an August 25 episode of No Chill with Gilbert Arenas, and, despite playing just three games with the club this past season before being shipped out to the Houston Rockets on February 9, the wing had nothing but great things to say.

“I liked Memphis a lot,” Green said. “They were one of the top organizations. They were A1. They communicated, over-communicated. They were great. They had a great group of kids.”

Coming from a three-time NBA Champion and a seasoned member of four Finals-bound teams throughout his 14-year career, such praise should be taken seriously from Grizzlies nation and beyond.

Of course, his lone experience with the franchise was prior to their decision to add much-needed veteran presences in Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose to their locker room in what is believed to be an effort to provide mentorship to this talented yet still rather youthful roster.

As a result, this “top organization” seems to have the potential to become even better as time goes by, which should very much excite Grizzlies fans.
