2. OG Anunoby

Over the last several months, we at BSB have been talking up the concept of the Grizzlies pursuing wing OG Anunoby in a trade with the Toronto Raptors. It appears we are not alone in our desire to see such an addition, as Buckley suggests the 26-year-old could be an ideal answer to address “their need for a two-way wing.”

A highly versatile player, Anunoby can realistically play any position from the two down to a small-ball four thanks to his enviable build (6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan) and overall skillset, which would be yet another gem for this already interchangeable roster to add.

With every passing season since being taken 23 overall back in 2017, the 26-year-old has managed to continuously improve upon his overall game and, over the last three years, finds himself sporting stellar all-around averages of 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and just shy of a block while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from deep.

Adding the currently-in-his-prime Anunoby would give the Grizzlies one of the best defensive trios in the league with him running alongside the two most recent Defensive Player of the Year award winners in Smart and Jackson Jr., a legitimate big-four with him, the aforementioned big man, Bane, and Morant, and some much-needed championship experience (won a title with Toronto in 2019).

If it weren’t for the higher upside this next player has, the Raptors forward would without a doubt be the number one ranked name on the list.
