Lately, Mikal Bridges has been the name people have been suggesting the Memphis Grizzlies should consider targeting on the trade market to help address their need for a new starting wing to replace the recently departed, Dillon Brooks.

Though the idea is certainly splashy and one that’s far more entertaining to ponder, in truth, the Brooklyn Nets talent that will prove to be more plausible for the franchise to acquire in a trade in the near future is soon-to-be eight-year veteran, Dorian Finney-Smith.

Though not in possession of All-Star upside like Bridges, DFS is a proven three-and-D wing with highly underrated athleticism attached to his game.

Since 2019-20 the wing has served as a full-time starter for both the Dallas Mavericks and, through the final few months of last season, the Nets, seeing ample postseason experience and even a Conference Finals berth along the way.

During this span, Finney-Smith has sported averages of 9.7 points and 5.1 rebounds on 45.2 percent shooting from the field and 37.7 percent shooting from deep and, for his career, holds a defensive rating of 112.

A reliable on-court presence with a tough-nosed attitude, the 30-year-old is a talent that could quickly endear himself to the Grind City faithful if brought aboard.
