Grizzlies star Ja Morant breaks social media silence with 4-word message
By Mark Nilon
The Memphis Grizzlies are prepping for a 2023-24 campaign many believe could see the team legitimately vying for an NBA Championship.
That said, despite these high expectations that could come at the end of the season, the beginning is expected to be a bit challenging to navigate, as they’ll be without superstar Ja Morant for the first 25 games of action due to a league-issued suspension.
Since his (latest) off-court actions resulted in such a punishment, the point guard has remained relatively silent, particularly on social media.
In fact, on his personal X account (previously known as Twitter), Morant refrained from writing a single post from early July until just recently, where he broke his silence with a rather cryptic message.

On September 22, the 24-year-old randomly penned a four-word post, writing: “y’all just be talkin.”
Who Morant is referring to, and what he’s referencing is truly anyone’s guess at this point in time, for the post had no follow-up messages attached.
That said, some such as Joey Linn of All Grizzlies have gone on to put their detective skills to the test, as the FanNation writer suggested that the star could be reacting to former NBA forward Evan Turner’s recent take on The Old Man and the Three podcast that the Grizzlies should consider relocating from Memphis to Nashville.
Though Linn may have an intriguing point regarding the spark for Morant’s post, ultimately, at this point in time, it is still nothing more than a theory, thus leaving the guard’s message shrouded in mystery.
