Heading into the 2023-24 campaign, the biggest rotational conundrum for the Memphis Grizzlies seems to be who will wind up serving as their starting small forward following the departure of Dillon Brooks.

Throughout the offseason, there have been several names linked as being possible options to serve as the 27-year-old’s successor and, just recently, an ideal target in Reggie Bullock found himself becoming available in free agency after being waived by the San Antonio Spurs on September 30.

Despite his seemingly perfect fit for this title-hungry Grizzlies squad, a direct divisional rival wound up getting to him first, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on October 3 that the 3&D veteran “plans to sign with the Houston Rockets after he clears waivers.”

Now, whether or not Memphis ever had any real interest in acquiring the likes of Bullock is truly anyone’s guess. Regardless of this matter, with just three weeks of separation between now and October 25’s season opener Taylor Jenkins’ squad still finds itself in search of a possible answer to their wing position.

Considering the 32-year-old is no longer an option, there are a few names, in particular, we at BSB believe GM Zach Kleiman should now set his sights on.
