2 wings Grizzlies must pursue after Reggie Bullock signing
By Mark Nilon
1. O.G Anunoby
The lack of activity by the Grizzlies to try and bolster their questionable starting wing position to this point raises two specific questions: Are they comfortable promoting from within or do they have a plan to make a splash on the trade market in the near future?
While the more realistic scenario for some may be the former, the latter is undoubtedly the most entertaining course of action this team could take and, should they wish to make a true splash, there’s an argument to be made that striking a deal for O.G. Anunoby could be both their best and most plausible option.
A true two-way talent who possesses championship experience, since coming into the league back in 2017 Anunoby has only managed to improve with every passing year.
Throughout his soon-to-be seven-year career, the 26-year-old has established himself as a legitimate budding star and sports impressive averages of 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and just shy of a block while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from deep.
With the slew of moves being made as of late by other championship-hopeful teams such as the Celtics, Bucks, and Suns, one could honestly say that the Grizzlies may want to make another shakeup themselves to keep in line with the rest of the NBA elites.
At the right price, adding a guy like Anunoby could be more than enough to do exactly this.
