With Media Day now in the rearview mirror the Memphis Grizzlies find themselves already preparing for the upcoming preseason, as training camps have officially opened across the entire NBA.

October 3 marked the kick-off to practices out in Grind City, and, according to Desmond Bane, day one wound up being a “good first day” that “set the tone for the season.”

Though what transpired during these first couple of team run-throughs was, for the most part, private from the public eye, per the aforementioned rising star, fans will soon be able to get an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes.

Desmond Bane announces Memphis Grizzlies will be hosting an open practice

On Wednesday, Bane shared with Grizzlies fans on X (previously known as Twitter) that the club will be hosting an open practice on Saturday, October 7 at the FedEx Forum.

Per the information provided on the team website, the festivities are slated to start at 11 AM (CDT) on the Big River Steel Plaza with interactive pop-ups.

Following this, doors to the arena will open at 12:30 PM, where the first 500 fans will receive an autographed picture of a Grizzlies player, and practice will soon come underway at 1:00 PM.

Not only is the idea of seeing one’s favorite basketball team hone their skills prior to the start of the season already enticing on its own, but it may be the only time fans will be able to see star Ja Morant running on the floor with the Grizzlies until mid-December, as he’s slated to miss the first 25 games of the regular season as a result of his league-issued suspension.

Simple footage of the guard participating in practice has already sent fans into a frenzy.

Imagine how much more exciting it would be to have the opportunity to see him running alongside Bane, Marcus Smart, Jaren Jackson Jr., Steven Adams, and the rest of this 2023-24 Memphis squad before anyone else…well, before all but 499 other people.
