1. Brandon Clarke

Easily the name most often found attached to Grizzlies trade rumors over the last several months, Brandon Clarke’s inclusion on this list may be tough for some to see but should be simple to understand.

A favorite amongst the Grind City faithful, since coming into the association back in 2019 the former Gonzaga star has established himself as one of the better two-way power forwards in the game today.

From his ferocious inside-out scoring prowess to his stellar defensive abilities, when on the floor Clarke has become a difference-maker well worth his $50 million payday.

Unfortunately, due to his Achilles tendon tear sustained this past March, we likely won’t be seeing him grace the hardwood at all this season, and, to some, it is believed that he may never again display the brand of play that made him a household name in Memphis as a result.

With the ship that is this Grizzlies team already showing signs of sinking, it may be a painful yet worthwhile idea for the front office to try and package Clarke in as a high-upside addition to a sizeable trade to help address current concerns and rough patches found on the roster.

The big man’s reputation coupled with his current $12.5 million salary now in season one of his recently inked four-year extension could help land the franchise a rather lucrative return piece.

Again, trading Clarke away would by no means be an easy pill for fans to swallow, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures and, in this case, it could lead to the 27-year-old being sent outbound.
