The Grizzlies' three-game winning streak was snapped by a 128-123 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last night. During their winning streak, the Grizzlies held their opponents to a combined 28-115 from three (24%), including holding the same Lakers team to 15-38 in their home victory against them last week to begin the winning streak.

However, the Lakers caught fire at home last night, shooting 20-41 from three (48.8%), which aided in helping them pull off the victory. The Grizzlies fell apart guarding the three last night, but they continued to display the balanced scoring effort that has helped them start the season as a top-five offensive scoring unit.

Four games straight with 7 players in double figures

Jaren Jackson Jr. leads the Grizzlies in scoring this season, averaging 22.5 points per game. The team has eight players averaging at least 10 points per game and ranks fourth in the NBA with 121.1 points per game.

Last night marked the fourth game straight the Grizzlies have achieved seven players to score double-digit points in a game. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way with 29 points (his fourth straight 20-plus points game). In the Grizzlies' six games in November, the team has had seven players score double-digits in five of those games.

Including the season as a whole thus far, the Grizzlies have had seven players score double-digit points in seven of their 12 games and have a 5-2 record in those games. The big three of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane are the leading scorers with Morant at 20.6 and Bane at 18.8 points per game.

The Grizzlies rank second in the NBA in bench points with 46.3, only trailing their next opponent the Golden State Warriors. The balanced scoring is another positive sign that the new offense that values pace and ball movement is working like it was intended to.

The high offensive output by the team to begin the season despite the influx of lineup changes is also a positive sign as the team meshes well as a whole unit from players one through 15. As the team remains on the road for the final of their three-game road trip at the Golden State Warriors on Friday night, the balanced scoring will be a key component in helping to defeat the team that is right above them in a lot of the same offensive categories.
