NBA Trade Deadline Day is officially here for all NBA teams to make their final moves to solidify their teams for the rest of this season. The Memphis Grizzlies have been rumored to be on the market but have watched as their fellow conference rivals have made moves.

Rumored target Jimmy Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors last night to officially end the long saga that began in December. While the Grizzlies sort out their roster needs just as the team has gotten healthy, let's review some previous trade deadline deals the team has completed.

February 8, 2024: David Roddy traded to Phoenix Suns

Last season, the Grizzlies made one move on trade deadline day when they traded second-year forward and former first-round pick David Roddy to the Phoenix Suns in a three-team deal. In that deal, which also included the Brooklyn Nets, the Grizzlies received Chimezie Metu and Yuta Watanabe in return.

They waived Chimezie Metu the next day, and Watanabe remained with the team for the rest of the season before returning to his home country, Japan, in the summer. The Grizzlies also traded Xavier Tillman to the Boston Celtics the day before the trade deadline for Lamar Stevens and two second-round picks.

February 9, 2023: Grizzlies Acquired Luke Kennard

The trade that is most relevant to the current Grizzlies team happened during the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline when they traded three second-round picks and Danny Green in a three-team trade with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets. Current guard and potential trade target Luke Kennard joined the Grizzlies along with a second-round draft pick in return.

Luke Kennard has been a success with the Grizzlies as he is shooting 48.3% on 5.4 attempts from three in his 100 career games with Memphis. The Grizzlies needed shooting badly and Kennard has provided that for the team since his arrival.

February 6, 2020: Grizzlies traded Andre Iguodala

The Grizzlies acquired former Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala in an off-season salary dump trade that led to an agreement between him and the team for him not to show up. The Grizzlies waited until the trade deadline to trade him, Jae Crowder, and Solomon Hill to the Miami Heat in a three-team trade.

Bruno Caboclo was also traded from the Grizzlies to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the deal. The team acquired Justise Winslow, Dion Waiters, and Gorgui Dieng with hopes that Winslow would be part of their young core with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. Ultimately, it didn't work out and the Grizzlies drafted Desmond Bane in the draft later that year.

February 7, 2019: Grizzlies traded Marc Gasol

The trade that officially signaled the end of the 'Grit N Grind' saw the Grizzlies trade Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors for Jonas Valanciunas, C.J. Miles, and Delon Wright. The Grizzlies had a busy deadline with three separate trades.

They also traded JaMychal Green to the Los Angeles Clippers for Garrett Temple and Avery Bradley and traded Shelvin Mack to the Atlanta Hawks for Tyler Dorsey.
