Coming off a 21-point come-from-behind victory in Chicago to defeat the Bulls in their third preseason game, the Grizzlies take a trip to the next connecting state to take on the Indiana Pacers in their final preseason road game. Playing without four of their five starters and plenty of more reserves, the Grizzlies' young guys showed poise in their battle with the Bulls' core.

Rookies Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey paved the way for the Grizzlies to make a third-quarter run that cut their 14-point halftime deficit to a two-point deficit before the Bulls went to their end-of-bench guys in the fourth quarter. With a 2-1 record, the Grizzlies look to continue their momentum as they continue to learn their new offensive system.

What to watch for in Grizzlies at Pacers

The continued development of the Grizzlies' young players will be front and center for their final preseason road game. With the expected absences of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Marcus Smart due to their separate minor injuries, the Grizzlies will look to prioritize their youth development.

Rookie second-round wing Jaylen Wells has, arguably, been the most impressive preseason performer on the team through three games. He has shot 42.1% from three (8-19) and made multiple clutch baskets to help secure their two wins in Dallas and Chicago.

For a team that continues to look to add shooters to surround Ja Morant, Wells seems poised to compete for rotational minutes as early as this season with his play. Another player that has impressed in the shooting department has been two-way center Jay Huff.

The 7'1" fourth-year pro has shot 44% from three (8-18) through the team's first three preseason games and has been a good rebounder in his increased minutes in the team's last two preseason games with six rebounds in 23 minutes against the Hornets, and nine rebounds in 21 minutes against the Bulls.

Those are two areas, along with his height, that the Grizzlies severely lacked last season and could be an opportunity for him to get minutes in the event an injury happens to the big man rotation. At 27 years old, Huff is also making a case for one of the Grizzlies' two open roster spots.
