This summer, Cam Boozer gave Grizzlies fans a great preview of what to expect in his rookie season. It's clear that the Grizzlies have a potentially special talent not just for this season but for many years to come. But every Grizzlies fan should be extremely excited about a recent prediction on Boozer's future.

Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report just did a recent prediction of who the best players on each team will be by 2029, and to the surprise of very few, Cam Boozer was the pick. Hughes had the following to say:

"If he makes good on the statistical profile that suggested he should have been the top draftee in his class, Cam Boozer might be the Memphis Grizzlies' best player when he debuts in October. Three years from now, the gap between him and Memphis' No. 2 option may only be wider."

The Grizzlies have an intriguing core led by Cedric Coward, Zach Edey, and Cam Boozer. With a plethora of future assets and a promising core already, Boozer becoming the Grizzlies' clear best player by 2029 would be a strong sign that the team is one of the best in the Western Conference.

Boozer has a strong floor already, but his ceiling could be even higher than many outside of Memphis expect. Like many Grizzlies fans, I believe in Cam Boozer's potential and feel that his upside is being downplayed too much.

But, when factoring in the Grizzlies' current situation, it also cannot be forgotten how impactful Zach Edey was in his second season, and Cedric Coward also showed a promising winning impact even in a tank year for the Grizzlies. Boozer should make a run at Rookie of the Year, but being the clear-cut best player in Memphis by 2029 would bode extremely well for this new era of Grizzlies basketball.

Now that's not to discount the argument that Boozer could be the Grizzlies' best player this year even as a rookie. But if there is a wide gap by 2029 between Cam Boozer and players such as Zach Edey and Cedric Coward, there should be some very exciting conversations about the Grizzlies' potential.

It's currently very challenging to find teams in the Western Conference that can give the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs trouble. However, if Boozer establishes himself as the clear best player on the team by 2029, the Grizzlies could find themselves in the conversation as one of the best teams in not just the West, but also the entire NBA.

Cedric Coward and Zach Edey should continue to make a winning impact if healthy, but Cam Boozer showed flashes this summer that could lead him to being the franchise player in Memphis very soon.

It still remains to be seen how the Grizzlies end up faring this season. But the latest prediction on Cam Boozer should excite every Grizzlies fan about the future in Memphis.
