27. Milwaukee Bucks grab Izan Almansa

Almansa is the most decorated FIBA player in this class after winning MVP in the Under-19 World Cup, the Under-19 European Championships, and the Under-17 World Cup over the last two years. The 6’10 forward was dominant in those competitions, but he has been inconsistent for the G League Ignite this season.

Almansa is a 6’10 forward with a high basketball IQ. He must add some weight, but fans can see the potential in any contest. The 18-year-old is averaging 13.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 27.3 minutes per game this season. His lack of shooting hurts, especially in an offense with no traditional point guard, but Almansa could pop in the right system.

The Bucks are no strangers to developing European talent. Izan Almansa could learn from Giannis Antetokounmpo in a limited role before blossoming in a few years. He turns 19 just before the draft and should continue to improve throughout this season.

Almansa will need time to develop, but the tools are there to be an impact option on both ends of the floor. The Ignite’s roster construction has done him no favors. Still, there is untapped potential that could shine through in the right fit.
