2. Derrick Rose

One of the most beloved guards in NBA history, Derrick Rose became a Grizzly last summer when he signed a veteran minimum deal with the organization. This may have seemed like a largely insignificant signing given Rose's age and his somewhat limited ability at this stage of his career. It was certainly not a move that transformed Memphis into a top-tier contender.

Rose's impact on the Grizzlies was always intended to be more subtle. Something that had been a common point of discussion around this team for some time was the apparent lack of veteran leadership in the locker room. With Ja Morant repeatedly finding himself in off-court drama, many felt Memphis could use more older players with not just more basketball experience, but more life experience as well.

Veterans have always been a vital aspect of a championship-level team. Even with as much young talent as there is in the NBA today, that fact does not change. As such, Derrick Rose can be a very important piece for this squad.

Heading into his 16th year of playing in the association, Rose will have one year left on his deal with the Grizzlies, and the team should not think twice about having him back in their locker room.
