4. Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose's NBA career had so much promise. At one point, he seemed capable of being the face of the league, as he was one of the league's most promising young players.

And he was electric and exciting to watch during his days in a Chicago Bulls uniform, as he won the MVP and led the Bulls to the best record in the NBA in 2010-11. Injuries have been a recurring theme in Rose's career, essentially causing him to miss two seasons (all of 2012-13 and 10 games in 2013-14).

In addition, Rose has played in just 77 games in the last three seasons, due to.....you guessed it....injuries.

Truthfully, it's a testament to his resolve and mentality that he's still in the league at age 35. He's morphed himself into a contributor off the bench, as he's remained coveted by teams around the league, even in a limited capacity.

All told, Rose has been on five different teams in the last seven seasons, including the Grizzlies, who thought he'd give them an insurance policy through Ja Morant's initial suspension. And he's developed a legitimate 3-point shot, out of force, as the injuries zapped his athleticism.

The Grizzlies figure to maximize whatever trade value Rose has left, by dumping his $3.4 million salary in 2024-25 in the summer- paving the way for Scotty Pippen Jr. to be the team's back-up point guard.
