The Memphis Grizzlies are a long way out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference, but they have turned things around since the return of star guard Ja Morant.
Morant is averaging 26.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game since returning from his suspension, and he’s led the Grizzlies to a 4-1 record in the five games he’s played in.
If you’re looking to bet on this game, the prop market is a great place to start – especially for Morant. I have two picks that I love for the All-Star guard on Sunday, as well as a prop for Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis.

Let’s break down the picks for this New Year’s Eve clash:
Kings vs. Grizzlies best NBA prop bets
- Ja Morant UNDER 6.5 rebounds
- Ja Morant OVER 7.5 assists
- Domantas Sabonis OVER 34.5 points and rebounds
Ja Morant UNDER 6.5 rebounds
Starting with a Morant under may not be what you expected, but it’s the right bet.
I’m surprised to see Morant’s rebound prop all the way up at 6.5 considering he’s yet to clear six boards in a game this season.
While Morant certainly hits the glass a high level for a guard, I’d expect this prop to bet at 5.5 since he’s gone over it three times and under twice. At 6.5, I’ll gladly take the UNDER. Morant averages just 4.8 rebounds per game for his career.
Ja Morant OVER 7.5 assists
Here’s the play that Grizzlies fans will be excited to make on Sunday.
Morant has been dishing the ball at a high level, picking up at least eight assists in four of his five games, including two games with 10 or more dimes.
Even with Derrick Rose (questionable) potentially returning on Sunday, I’m still expecting a heavy dosage of Morant, giving him plenty of chances to rack up assists.
The Kings rank 22nd in the NBA in opponent assists allowed per game.
Domantas Sabonis OVER 34.5 points and rebounds
This is a prop that I absolutely love for Domantas Sabonis, who is averaging 19.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per game.
Sabonis has cleared 34.5 points and rebounds in four of his last six games, and now he gets a Memphis team that ranks just 24th in the NBA in rebounding percentage this season.
I expect Sabonis to have his way with Xavier Tillman and others in the painted area.
