1 Area each core Grizzlies player must improve upon heading into 2024-25
Honorable Mentions
G.G. Jackson
A true diamond found during the unexpected tank season that was 2023-24, G.G. Jackson flourished and grew exponentially as a top-tier wing talent and a key piece of Memphis' bench unit.
With his efforts and impressive averages of 14.6 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 35.7 percent from deep, he would ultimately go on to be named to the All-Rookie Second-Team, the only second-round pick to make it onto either of the illustrious units in 2024.
While still young and in the process of refinement, Jackson is poised to continue his growth and contribute offensively and defensively to a Memphis team that could see him start during certain games. A better sense of shot selection and defensive prowess can quickly turn the 19-year-old forward into another dangerous bench piece.
Zach Edey
The most recent Grizzlies draft pick finds himself in line to serve as the club's newest starting center, with fans and the franchise hoping his collegiate excellence will transition to the pros to help anchor a defensive unit that also features two former DPOY winners in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marcus Smart.
While a shortened stint in Summer League has kept Edey off the court temporarily, Memphis should be eager to integrate him into the offensive schemes coach Taylor Jenkins has constructed, while simultaneously setting down the groundwork for excellent defensive synergy.
