3 Grizzlies assets that must be shopped on trade market

1. Dillon Brooks TPE
In the NBA, assets aren't limited to just players, draft capital, and cash considerations. Though they may be the most common, arguably equal in value to any one of them is a TPE and the Grizzlies possess one, in particular, that could actually land them a solid commodity in return.
For those who aren't familiar, a TPE, short for Traded Player Exception, is a luxury that allows a team to bring on outsourced players in a trade without having it affect their in-season cap situation, so long as the incoming salary/ salaries fit into the allotted sum of money.
In a nutshell, such an exception creates a way for a team to absorb a specific amount of value in salary without necessarily having to part ways with anyone or, technically, anything and, in the Grizzlies' case, they find themselves with roughly $7 million remaining of the $11.4 million TPE received this summer via the Dillon Brooks sign-and-trade.
Though perhaps not something that could realistically land a current star-level talent, this type of asset could prove to be enough to add on another quality role player or two to better fill out the roster and support coach Jenkins' top trio of Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Ja Morant once the latter returns from his 25-game suspension later this month.
Be it in an effort to land a low-cost contributor who could help aid in the team's desires to win or simply to collect draft capital with an unwanted contract, the Grizzlies should look into what exactly they have a shot at nabbing with this particularTPE.
