Grizzlies: Dillon Brooks likens Rockets teammate to Ja Morant
By Mark Nilon
It has been nearly a year since Dillon Brooks last suited up with the Memphis Grizzlies, yet he still frequently finds himself grouped into the team's rumor mill.
Though generally, his continued link has come from taking subtle jabs at his former employers, his latest connection was a result of complementary chatter, particularly toward the likes of Ja Morant.
In a recent interview with The Rockets Wire, Brooks talked about the ascension of Rockets guard Jalen Green of late, and seemed to liken his game to the Grizzlies superstar.

"[He's] getting more and more confident, getting great shots, getting to the rim at reckless abandon. I always tell him just to keep that same routine because that’s what Ja did. Just keep that same routine every single day so you get the same result and that's what he's doing right now."

Over the past month the third-year combo guard has simply taken the league by storm with his stupendous play, as he finds himself posting tremendous averages of 28.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 49.6 percent from the floor and 41.7 percent from distance over a 12-game stretch.
Fortunately for the injury plagued Rockets, his play has helped guide them to a 10-2 record over this span and a current eight game winning streak as they look to clinch a Play-In Tournament berth before regular season's conclusion.
Though perhaps not a perfect comparison, as Morant is undeniably more of a natural distributor than Green, there is some validity when it comes to the link between the youngster and the Grizzlies superstar, particularly in regards to their exceptional quickness and highlight reel brand of athleticism.
Though in many ways Memphis may be rooting for the demise of Houston, it's always fun to see rising studs being compared to the team's already established stars.
