Grizzlies fans sound off on team's insane injury report ahead of Lakers matchup
By Mark Nilon
Already this season, the Memphis Grizzlies have made league history for the number of players that have suited up for the club with 33 in total. Now, ahead of their Friday night matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, it appears they're en route to inflating this aforementioned number even more.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), the team's PR account released their injury report coming into their home tilt against their new-age rivals and, astonishingly enough, their 15-man roster has a whopping 13 players already ruled out for the contest.
This report quickly caught the attention of fans and pundits alike, as it has since been the subject of numerous follow-up posts and comments on the social media platform.
Grizzlies fans react to wild injury report ahead of Lakers game
One fan joked that he was willing to suit up for Memphis if they were looking to fill out their roster for the game against Los Angeles.
Another predicted that being Jake LaRavia and GG Jackson are the only regular commodities not listed on the report, the latter could find himself putting up a career scoring performance for the Grizzlies.
One user suggested that the league should go as far as investigating Grizzlies for this injury report, as they don't seem convinced that it's possible to have so many players ruled out at once.
Recently, Joe Mullinax of Locked on Grizzlies suggested that the team should consider sitting anyone who is "significant to your plans long-term" for the remainder of the season.
Ahead of their game against the Lakers, it seems Memphis may have taken this suggestion a bit too literally.
