Mike Conley

Though it has been five years since Mike Conley last suited up in the navy, blue, and gold Grizzlies threads, Grind City has yet to forget just how important he was as a player and as an overall presence for Memphis.

Now, in his first full season with the Timberwolves, he's seemingly having a similar effect on their fanbase and franchise.

While running point for the historically lackluster organization, the veteran has helped elevate them from a Play-In Tournament team to a top-three seed in the highly competitive Western Conference standings while also aiding in their efforts of clinching their first semifinal series berth in 20 years.

While his counting stats may not necessarily scream crucial contributor, as he's posting 10.8 points, 6.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals through six playoff games, his decision-making and willingness to lead by example through all-out hustle and scrappiness on the defensive end have been the truly invaluable aspects of his game throughout this year's playoff run.

Add all this to the fact that he's continuing to showcase his Teammate of the Year award-winning skills by bringing leadership and wisdom both to the hardwood and within the locker room on a nightly basis, and there's zero debate that Conley has been virtually as important to this Minnesota team's success as superstars Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.

As Grizzlies fans already know, his contributions just aren't as flashy.
