2. James Wiseman

Adding a recent top-five selection who's still under the age of 25 is always an enticing idea for teams to consider.

Add in the fact that he plays a position of need, is a native to the state of Tennessee -- born in Nashville and attended college at the University of Memphis --, and could likely be had at a minimum salary and it all seems to make too much sense why the Grizzlies should target James Wiseman during this year's free agency period.

Though he has certainly failed to live up to his lofty draft status through this point in time, the big man still has shown flashes from time to time of why he was such a highly touted prospect coming into the league back in 2020.

Measuring in at 6-foot-11 with a mesmerizing 7-foot-6 wingspan, Wiseman has the natural build of a ferocious rim protector and lob threat while his foot quickness, underrated strength, and soft touch at the rim indicate that, with the proper tutelage, he could still become a lethal offensive weapon at the professional level.

Throughout three active seasons (sat out his sophomore year with a torn right meniscus) the 22-year-old finds himself averaging 9.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and just shy of a block while shooting 55.8 percent from the field.

Though far from the sexy signing Grizzlies fans may be hoping for this summer, perhaps buying low on the hometown hero's upside could be a a move worth investing in.
