Grizzlies' GG Jackson spotted putting in offseason work with 8x All-Star, NBA Champ

Following a tremendous first-year showing where he was named to the All-Rookie Second-Team and worked his way toward a long-term pact with the Memphis Grizzlies, all eyes are on GG Jackson to take that next step in his career and improve upon areas in his game that still need to be tweaked.
Heading into the offseason, the 19-year-old revealed that the three aspects of his game he wishes to improve before his sophomore campaign are his shooting inconsistencies, floater game, and overall defense.
Already, he's shown signs of advancements in all of these categories during this year's Summer League play, and, recently, video footage has surfaced showing him putting in work and running scrimmages with and against Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, a player who undoubtedly can help him improve on all three fronts.

The clips posted to Instagram show Jackson displaying several new maneuvers, ones where he's pulling out hesitations, mid-range spin-moves, and squaring up on defense against stars like Irving and other promising young prospects.
Throughout his 13-year NBA tenure, Irving has established himself as one of the game's best offensive weapons thanks, conveniently enough, to his consistent shooting stroke (a 47.4 percent shooter for his career) and floater game.
Being in the lab with the eight-time All-Star and NBA Champion will not only help the Grizzlies stud get a better understanding of how to operate on the offensive side of the floor, but, also, how to manage against such star power when on the less glamorous side as well, as Irving is truly one of the most shifty scorers the league has ever seen.
At times, Jackson seemed truly unstoppable while suiting up for the Grizzlies in 2023-24, as he wrapped up his 48 games played with the varsity team with seven separate showings with 25 or more points, four of which were over 30 and one, which came during their season finale against the Denver Nuggets, was as high as 44.
As a whole, he would register truly impressive per-game averages of 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 35.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Of course, as he even admitted during his exit interview, he proved to be rather streaky with his shooting stroke, noting that "when it's off, like, it's off."
Because of this, one of his primary goals for the summer seems to be emphasizing stability in his scoring craft, and it appears he's diving into the deep end of the proverbial pool by running with the likes of Irving.
