2. Jarrett Allen

The Cavaliers could face a crossroads offseason, especially if they get bounced in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year. Donovan Mitchell has just one season plus a player option remaining on his contract when he becomes extension-eligible this summer. If the five-time All-Star declines a new contract, the Cavs will be forced to shop him. Cleveland also has a dilemma at the five.

Playing Allen and Evan Mobley together is problematic as neither player spaces the floor. They have an elite defense but struggle to score. The Cavaliers may be better off trading Allen and building a better-fitting roster around Mobley and Darius Garland.

The 6’11 big man is having a career year as he averages 16.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 31.7 minutes per game. Allen would be a fantastic pick-and-roll partner for Ja Morant. He is capable of protecting the rim and solving all their rebounding issues. The 25-year-old is still improving too.

Jarrett Allen was an All-Star in 2022 and could be just the piece the Memphis Grizzlies are searching for this offseason. Their floor spacing would be a massive concern, but having four potential All-Stars flanking Marcus Smart makes Memphis a force. They may decide target a big man who solves their shooting woes, though.
