6 Players Grizzlies can acquire to help Ja Morant get back on track

1. Karl-Anthony Towns
The ownership situation in Minnesota clouds their future. The Timberwolves have avoided the tax under current owner Glen Taylor and the duo hoping to complete the sale struggled to get the capital to buy the franchise. With raises for Anthony Edwards and Towns, the Wolves would be over the second tax apron next season. Their choice is to pay a hefty tax bill to keep the team together or sell off pieces.
KAT begins a four-year $221 million extension next season. The four-time All-Star earned it, but he feels like the salary to move. The Timberwolves are not recouping the value they paid for Rudy Gobert and have holes to fill on their roster. They may dump Towns' contract to avoid the tax, no matter the team’s success.
Memphis would love to add an elite scorer and shooter at the five. Jaren Jackson Jr. can roam off the ball and make up for the subpar defense of Towns. KAT could develop a strong chemistry with Ja Morant. His ability to roll or pop and score coming off screens could make the Grizzlies nearly impossible to stop.
The Memphis Grizzlies would love to add another All-Star. They must get Morant more help if they want to become title contenders. That dream seems far off after a disappointing year, but expect the Grizzlies to be back in the hunt in 2025. Fans should be ready for some bold moves, and please stay tuned for all the latest.
