Ranking each month of Grizzlies 2024-25 NBA schedule on level of difficulty
By Mark Nilon
4) April
Like February and October, April is a month that sees minimal action for the Memphis Grizzlies.
As the season winds down and gears up for the illustrious playoffs, the league cuts things short in the middle of the month, which, in turn, will see Ja Morant and company suit up for just seven games, their second-lowest total on the year.
However, what's notable about their limited affairs is that the majority of them will be coming against serious heavy weights.
Starting things off they find themselves hosting the Golden State Warriors (Apr. 1) and then visiting the Miami Heat (Apr. 3) over a span of just three nights.
From there, they get a slight break as they suit up against bottom-feeders in the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets, but then finish off the regular season with three games in four nights against the top-tier Minnesota Timberwolves (Apr. 10), Denver Nuggets (Apr. 11), and Dallas Mavericks (Apr. 13).
Hopefully Memphis is in a position where they don't necessarily need to finish off the campaign strong, because their schedule on the month objectively seems to be a tough way to wrap things up.
3) January
January may not see Memphis facing off against the juggernaut squads of the league such as the Boston Celtics and OKC Thunder like many of the other months do, but what it does have is a slew of teams that, though perhaps not title frontrunners, are being viewed as nothing short of promising playoff-hopefuls.
Outside of their Jan. 22 showdown with the Hornets, when it comes to their opponents on the month, each one is either seen as a lock to make the postseason or is in a position to contend for the Play-In Tournament.
The Grizzlies will also be starting these 31 days off in an incredibly challenging manner, as they will be on the road for games one and two playing the Sacramento Kings (Jan. 3) and Golden State Warriors (Jan.4) before returning home for a two-game stint that has them playing host to the Dallas Mavericks for game one.
After that, they go on the road for a four-game trip that starts against the Timberwolves (Jan. 11) and consists of two straight games against the highly improved Spurs (Jan. 15 & 17).
